Stringent Certification Standards Zung Fu's ongoing improvement process Every kind of maintenance work undertaken by Zung Fu technicians, from simple service to complicated engine overall, is implemented to the scrupulously high levels of Mercedes-Benz. All Zung Fu technicians undergo long hours of training and testing, to ensure they know Mercedes-Benz procedures inside out; the German auto manufacturer is renowned for rigidly high standards and Zung Fu technicians have to meet those levels. Mercedes-Benz has a C-Service (certified service) program, whereby all service personnel for Zung Fu, and other certified agents, have to be approved. Achieving the C-Service qualification is not easy and involves passing a series of examinations and interviews with external examiners from Mercedes-Benz. Ongoing process It is an ongoing process and Zung Fu aims to have all its personnel of service advisers with the full set of qualifications by the end of 2008. Only Zung Fu staff have these qualifications, as the company is the only Hong Kong company certified by Mercedes-Benz. When it comes to Mercedes-Benz workshops, the certified Diagnostic Technician (CDT) programme was started in 2004. The exams necessary to achieve certification are challenging to all service staff and involve handling the most complex fault diagnosis and implementing problem-solving techniques. As a result of this dedication to ongoing improvement and training, Zung Fu now has 22 certified Diagnostic Technicians in Hong Kong and Macau. The exam pass rate of Zung Fu staff in the Diagnostic Technicians program is the highest in the Northeast Asian Region. Acquiring skills Another program for certified Maintenance Technicians began in 2007. This allows all workshop staff to acquire the skills that are fully recognised by Mercedes-Benz by undergoing continuous technical training and passing examinations. Zung Fu is very confident that all our technical staff will ultimately be certified, as most of them have already passed the exam, or are studying hard.
