Economical, powerful and low in pollutants: that's the newly developed 4-cylinder in-line engines with direct injection. The E 200 CGI BlueEFFICIENCY and E 250 CGI BlueEFFICIENCY are above all characterised by their smoothness of operation in all engine speed ranges and have an output of 184 and 204 hp and deliver a maximum torque of 270 and 310 Nm. Its low consumption figures derive in part from their engine concept with a comparably small displacement of 1.8 litres, improved direct fuel injection and turbocharging. Due to the weight saved and the lower friction losses, the engines function particularly economically and efficiently. 

Easy on the environment and your wallet: the ECO start/stop function reduces the vehicle’s fuel consumption and emission levels by switching off the engine when the vehicle is at a standstill or coasting to a stop. The new operating logic enables the engine to restart automatically as soon as you depress the clutch pedal fully or step on the accelerator.
